is a lively little village in the beautiful Galloway countryside. At the heart of the community is the village hall, which is used for meetings and fund raising by local clubs and associations, and celebrations of special family events by villagers and other locals. At times of national events it has been the focal point of Royal Wedding and Jubilee festivities. | is an attractive venue which offers facilities for performances, dining, music, dances, quizzes and a variety of social events. It offers spacious and pleasant surroundings which can accomodate a bar and a choice of layout of the comfortable chairs and modern long tables. The kitchen offers the use of a large double cooker, microwave, tea urn and crockery to allow either self catering, or external caterers. | is a dedicated group of villagers who work hard to raise funds in order to maintain the hall and its facilities to the highest standard. The Executive Committee has a Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and Booking Clerk, while the larger Hall Committee consists of representatives of local clubs, and co-opted members. Three Trustrees monitor and keep an overview of proceedings, offering support when required. |
